“…and they fell down and worshiped him. Then, opening their treasures, they offered him gifts…” – The Wise Men upon seeing baby Jesus with his mother Mary. I am fascinated by the “verbs” found in the Scriptures. Take a closer look at our passage here from Matthew 2: 11 The Wise Men: Fell… Worshiped… Opened… Offered… This fourfold action of discipleship is our clarion call. We “fall” before King Jesus… We “worship” – expressing our reverence. We “open” our heart, offer everything we have. We “offer” our lives as a gift. What does Jesus want for Christmas?
