Preaching

What are you preaching?

(Let the mental percolation begin…Tune of Jeopardy now playing in the background) I am not talking about preaching from the standpoint of speaking before a congregation in a church setting. I am not even talking about publicly proclaiming or teaching a religious or spiritual belief. What I am talking about is: What truths… What practices… What beliefs… What traditions… What type of culture.. Do you proclaim each and every day through word, through deed, through action, and through practice? There’s a famous quote wrongly attributed to St. Francis of Assisi which says this… Preach the Gospel, use words if necessary. It’s a great quote and certainly something for us to take to heart. I don’t know about you. I barely know about me… But… I have to use words “a lot!” I use words to share the “why” and the “who” behind my: words… practices… beliefs… traditions… and culture. My ultimate hope is to make my words and my practices align perfectly together as I preach Love… Mercy… Grace… Service… Humility… Jesus… Forgiveness… Care… And the list could go on and on… All this brings me back to the original question… What are you preaching these days? Have a great day and weekend ahead… Preach on!
