Moving Stones

Thursday's Thoughts from Pastor David It’s the Thursday after Easter! Listen to Mark’s take on what happened the first Easter morning…. When the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, so that they might go and anoint him. And very early on the first day of the week, when the sun had risen, they went to the tomb. And they were saying to one another, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?”And looking up, they saw that the stone had been rolled back—it was very large. (Mark 16: 1-4)What a haunting question women asked themselves that day – “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?” It’s a question which rings loud and clear in our hearts and minds to this day. We run up against very large stones in our lives. Stones which impede our progress. Stones which threaten to undo us. Stones which are imposing. Stones which seem immovable. Stones which seem impassable. And we cry out… “Who will roll away the stone for us?” Two thousand years later… the question bounces around our minds… “Does God still move stones?” Come on out this Sunday to MVPC and discover the wonder of –“ He still moves stones!” Grace and peace, Laugh often and Fear not!
